Press Release:
FOOLSGOLD ARTS AND RH GALLERY HOST BENEFIT FOR FRACK ACTION
Exhibition and Silent Auction to be Held November 2, 2012, 6-9pm
New York, NY – November 2012 – FOOLSGOLD ARTS, an organization that helps raise much needed funds for the natural environment and its inhabitants through silent art auctions, has teamed up with RH Gallery in Tribeca, NY to host their seventh fundraising exhibition titled Fr**k Off. On November 2nd, a cocktail reception and silent auction will be held and a large part of the proceeds from the sale of each piece will go directly to Frack Action.
Fracking is a hot topic issue for New York right now as Governor Cuomo and the DEC (Department of Environmental Conservation) deliberate on finalizing regulations that would mean the end of a temporary moratorium and fracking moving forward in the State. Fracking aka hydraulic-fracturing is a dangerous method of natural gas extraction. It entails drilling deep underground into shale deposits and blasting millions of gallons of water laced with sand and hundreds of toxics chemicals at high pressure to break apart the shale to release methane (natural gas). These chemicals are known carcinogens that leak into the aquifers and pollute the earth and our drinking water.
Artists in the exhibition include Richard Saja, a contemporary embroiderer who recently did a collaboration with Opening Ceremony, has created a special toille for the exhibition; John Gordon Gauld, responsible for the window displays at Bergdorf Goodman, is doing a new watercolor; as well as many other noteworthy artists including Micah Ganske, Melanie Vote, Brian Drury, Coke Wisdom O’Neal, and Vanity Fair photographer Patrick Fraser. I AM PICTURES will also be showing a special PSA featuring the testimonials of many highly regarded actors.
The benefit is graciously sponsored by Eskayel, Crystal head Vodka and Ithaca Beer.
